Plaud Launches NotePin S and Desktop App to Record and Transcribe Meetings

Plaud Launches NotePin S and Desktop App

Plaud is a company that is not only venturing into the future but is also taking a big step with the new wearable device coming along with he desktop app for its AI notetaking tools. The intention behind this rollout is to make capturing meetings much simpler and more automated.
This technological advancement was disclosed to the public just before CES 2026, thus revealing a new frontier for the company in terms of note capture, both physically and also virtually.

Among the products, the hardware update is the Plaud NotePin S which is the improved version of the original AI pin-style recorder of Plaud. The most significant modification is the introduction of a physical button that allows the users to start and stop the recordings with a single touch.

Although it may appear to be a minor feature, it effectively removes a major annoyance associated with the touch-only controls and, at the same time, provides explicit tactile feedback. Moreover, you can also press the button lightly during the recording to indicate parts of the discussion or meeting that are important and hence need to be referred to later.

The NotePin S is exactly like its predecessor in terms of the compact shape and setup which makes it possible to attach it to the clothes, wristbands or lanyards very easily. It contains a clip, a lanyard, a magnetic pin and a wristband in the package so depending on the style you like you can wear it.

The device has built-in 64GB memory which is sufficient for 20 hours of recording uninterruptedly in one go and the dual MEMS microphones used in it are able to capture sound from a distance of around 9.8 feet.

Every month, users gain 300 minutes of covert transcription free of charge. Essentially, the spoken audio becomes a textual form that is searchable; thus, reviewing meetings can be approx. as fast as going through the recording. Moreover, the device works with Apple Find My as well, so in case of losing it, you can always find it.

In addition to the hardware, Plaud has also released a desktop application for both Mac and PC. The software listens to the active online meetings coming from the already mentioned platforms Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams. When a meeting begins, the app can either automatically start recording the session or you can manually begin it. Then, it applies AI to structure the text, thus, the meeting minutes and summaries are stored in one place.

The desktop application allows users of Plaud to attend not only in-person meetings but also online and hybrid ones. According to studies, a majority of professionals now split their time between the two formats and the availability of a single tool designed to capture conversations irrespective of their location will significantly minimize frictions. The app offers support for multimodal notetaking, which means the user can type notes, insert pictures and at the same time have written the audio transcripts for the entire record.

The winning combination of hardware and software puts the company in direct competition with the giants in meeting capture and elevates it from a simple wearable to a more extensive productivity ecosystem. The startup asserts that this strategy enables professionals to not only save time but also organize their work better.

If you are attending a big conference, have a small meeting with a team, or are part of a video call from your desk, then Plaud’s new tools intend to make effortless and completely capture what was said, useful.
