Oboe Bags $16M Series A to Grow Its AI-Powered Course Generator

Oboe-a‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ learning startup spun out of Spotify executives and Anchor co-founders-has raised $16 million in a Series A round led by a16z. Promoting angels in the round, besides Eniac, Haystack, Offline, Factorial, and some angels, also contributed to it. Obote’s platform enables a user to set a goal of personal learning, for example learning how to code or studying philosophy; thereafter, AI creates a course personally tailored to the user’s goal. The app went live with a public launch in September 2025. Now, the seed round just three months apart from the launch, is aimed at helping the startup grow fast and reach out to users all over the world.

The program automatically creates organized lessons: in detail, the program divides the content into separate units, it varies the formats and is committed to the development of the interactive elements like tests, flashcards, etc. In some cases, Oboe offers podcast-style audio for the convenience of users who want to learn with an audio format. The startup isn’t only positioned as a tool for education, the ultimate goal is to offer the full “learning journey” that is adapted to the way an individual learns best.

Obo offers content via subscription for full access. The basic level provides users with unlimited generated courses. In order to get deeper access including additional chapters and offline downloads, the user may sign up for a paid plan: $15 per month (or $144 yearly) for extended chapters, or $40 per month (or $384/year) for a Pro plan with unlimited chapter access, export and download capabilities. Presently, Oboe is a web-based platform. The team is looking forward to the launch mobile apps and language support other than English. The big-picture goes beyond just AI and their desire is that people around the world can have access to top-notch learning powered by AI.

In the view of Nir Zicherman, the education market opportunity is very huge. He thinks that the demand for flexible learning of new topics is in millions of people, and AI can level the playing field by removing the traditional course creation bottlenecks.

OBE is putting its chips on fast expansion with the new money from a16z and others. If they pull it off, high school kids, self-taught adults, even workers looking for upskilling could be using the OBE model to structure and personalize their learning. What was haphazard curiosity could become a neat little education journey tailored just for ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌you.
